MY LIFE.
SOME WORDS ABOUT
I've had a varying career aspirations since I was a kid - stunt man, basketball shoe designer, the next baritone for Boyz II Men - all of which faded with age. Writing was the only thing that stayed with me, and I lived that life until my late 20's. I traveled as much as possible, wrote every night, counted my rejections (along with 2 publications), and worked any job that sounded cool and paid the rent (truck driver, fishing dock laborer in Boston, bike messenger, butcher, hotel doorman, fiction teacher).
My design life started in 2016 when I was hired at IDEO. I split my time between the experience team and supporting a revolving door of clients with anything writing related. I've spent my time since then working in the community outreach space, something that hits close to home for me. I wouldn't be who I am today if it wasn't for the help of other people, so it felt good to give back.
I've spent the past few years working in the community outreach space while educating and freelancing in the content design world. I live on Amelia Island off the east coast of Florida with my family and run my own content design consultancy, FUNC Content Studio, geared toward helping local boutique companies, nonprofits, and charities.
